Speedy, convenient, friendly service!

Unbeatable price for a shuttle from Liberia to Santa Teresa (and more routes). The shuttle often includes a transfer, but I found it to be very quick and we even got to our destination 1 hour earlier than expected. The staff was very quick to respond to my inquiries and helped accomodate me so I could make my flight.

Drive from Liberia to Santa Teresa

Take the flight to Tambor - it's cheaper, takes 45min (instead of 5+ hours of driving) and you'll be beyond happy you did. The drive is terrible, windy, bumpy, not on paved roads, etc. and you might get stuck in the construction for 45min+. I get this is a laid back place, I wasn't expecting a 5 lane highway directly to my hotel, but the drive is really bad and takes a LONG TIME, especially if you have a family/ kids. I'm usually one to save money and "take in the scenery" but there isn't much scenery on the drive and the flight is literally $100 (for 2 adults and 1 kid)...seriously, do it.

Tropical shuttle tours

We took the shuttle from Liberia airport to Santa Teresa, our first driver didn’t speak much English but it was no problem he took us where we needed to be and our other driver spoke a bit of English (we transferred shuttles about an hour and a half into the drive). Both of our drivers were very kind moving our luggage and offering stops for washroom/snack/drink. Dropped us off right where we needed to be! Overall great experience and reliable service for sure:)

Everything went smoothly!

Driver was early to our hostel in Liberia. Picked up one more person. Van ride to our first transfer point was scenic and smooth on paved road. The gas station we stopped at had bathrooms and snacks. Transfered to a larger bus, and it was completely full. The drivers took care of the bags and surfboards. Long drive on paved road then a bathroom break. No other services. Then a part of the drive was windy, hilly dirt road that was under construction. Driver maneuvered this well. Then we arrived! Door to door service! Driver was working hard to unload everyone's bags and boards. Total about 6 hours from Liberia to Santa Teresa. Chose to book again for the trip back. Would recommend for an affordable alternative to flying or renting a car!

Tropical Tours/Montezuma Adventures

I booked a private shuttle for our family of 6 adults from Liberia to Santa Teresa and then back at the end of the week.it was very easy to communicate via email with the staff. The driver from Liberia to Santa Teresa was early and from Tropical Tours. He did not speak English, and was somewhat reserved. We asked to stop at a grocery store which he did without complaint. The van was not super comfortable on the washed out sections of road (which was about 2 1/2 hrs of the total drive)but the driver got us there safely. Originally we were going to leave ST at 7pm on our departure day, but after seeing the condition of the road, we decided we better not be on that road in the dark, so I stopped by the office in ST on Monday to change our departure time to 2 pm. Staff was very accommodating and said no problem. On departure day at 2 o’clock there was no shuttle, but after an email and phone call, one arrived from Montezuma Adventures in about 30 min. This vehicle was much more comfortable than the first one, 3 seats across instead of two and support for our heads, which made the time on the washed out road much easier to bear. Had taken Dramamine and were glad we did. I would use this company again, but might ask for the better vehicle. This road is not for the faint of heart, but in the week we were in ST, a section of road got paved, so scary part was much shorter.

Awesome shuttle service!

We flew into Liberia and travelled down to Santa Teresa. First off, the service was so accommodating. We scheduled the wrong day, and they changed dates for us without any problems. Then, when our shuttle arrived, the drivers were excellent in helping us out (we have two kiddos, 1 and 3). Our mid-trip stop was perfect at a great little cafe.We were so happy to have booked with Tropical Tour Shuttles. The made the trip a total breeze!

Friendly and reliable

Tropical Tours picked me up at the Liberia airport and took me to Santa Teresa. They were prompt and professional, connecting with me immediately at the airport and getting me safely to my destination. My friend and I also used Tropical Tours at the last minute when we were leaving to go back to San Jose and our other shuttle arrangement fell through. I would definitely use them again on my next trip!

Great shuttle service!

This is my second experience using Tropical Tours. It was easy to book the reservations on line and the office got back to us within an hour to answer all questions and set up the reservations. I found the drivers to be helpful and courteous. They did their best to make us all comfortable and happy on a four hour trip from Liberia airport to Santa Teresa. Would definitely use them again the next time that I am in Costa Rica. Thank you Manny for an enjoyable trip this last time.

Not my first time with you, but this time, it was different.

It’s not the first time we(My friend and I) use Tropical Tours, but it’s the first time we have a bad experience. We took a shuttle from Liberia to Santa Teresa and we stopped 6 times during the 5 1/2 - 6 hours long trip. I consider that this is excessive, for a total of almost 1 hours 30 min lost. First, we stopped to change to another shuttle, 45 minutes after, we stopped because the drivers wanted to eat. After that, we stopped because the driver wanted to buy watermelons. After that, we stopped to a house so the driver could give someone the watermelons. After that, we stopped again to drop someone that had been on the bus with us from the start(a member of the driver’s family? A friend? I couldn’t say) to a house and finally, we stopped to pick up a women with her two sons. Also, The driver couldn’t barely speak in english, so it was really difficult for everyone to ask him questions/get informations. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the service.

Best Costa Rica shuttle service

Tropical Tours Shuttle service is the ONLY one that has afternoon service from Liberia Airport to Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula. We used them for four different shuttles during January 2018. They are run by the nicest people and let me tell you why. My son-in-law left his cell phone on the van and thought he would never get it back. The driver was not working the following day but called the Santa Teresa office and they let us know it was found. He brought it back to Santa Teresa and returned it the following morning. A few days later, I had an emergency and my husband and I were flown to the hospital in San Jose. We booked Tropical Tours shuttle to go back to Santa Teresa and said we would get a cab to San Jose airport to meet the shuttle. Tropical Tours said they would pick us up at CIMA Hospital at 8 am in the morning. We were thrilled that they we didn't have to meet them at the airport. The driver was at the hospital at 7:30 am, so he came to my hospital room and helped us out. We highly recommend Tropical Tours Shuttle for these reasons as well as the fact that they are the most courteous and cheerful drivers ever.

Much recommended from Liberia Airport to Santa Teresa

The shuttle was there, on time, at the airport and it was very easy to find them. The driver was very chatty and friendly. The van was comfortable w A/C and wifi :) I’m glad I chose to go through a reliable company because the road can sometimes be quite sketchy. The driver, Marlon, knew the (longgg) road perfectly and not a single time did I feel scared. Would definitely choose them again!

Safe and on time - everytime

We have used the TT service many many times over the years and this year will be no different. In past years this amazing local to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa business prides itself on going the extra mile for customers. We are living proof that they do. My son and I used the service several times and when the balance of my family arrived from Canada they brought them to Mal Pais from Liberia too. While all were delayed as a result of a late flight and customs the shuttle waited and got them safe and sound to me. One of my sons dropped his passport on the shuttle and the driver turned it in to JC at the office who saw me on the street and told me he had the passport....my son didn't even know he had dropped it...but we got it back. We then reserved a private shuttle with several other European travellers from Mal Pais to Liberia...an amazing ride....if you have enough people the private service is Exceptional. My son and I carried on to the Nica border and returned on the border shuttle service to Mal Pais....driver found us and made sure we were on the bus with the other border run people. There is so much more to say but not enough time for all to read....just know that if you are looking for comfort, timely, safe interesting, wifi enabled passage in and around Costa Rica....there is no better service than Tropical Tours. We love these folks....pura vida TT team!
