
The Tour starts in the morning from Montezuma, if you’re staying in a nearby town like Cabuya, Malpais or Santa Teresa, don’t worry, we provide Transportation from there also. The boats, with the capacity of 20 people or more, safety equipment, 300 horsepower outboards and well experienced local captains, offers a reliable and secure journey along the coast. During the 50 minute ride, it’s possible to spot species like: Dolphins, jumping manta rays and humpback whales.
Tortuga Island Snorkeling Tour, is perhaps the biggest attraction and adventure in the southern Nicoya Peninsula, its a combination of all you have dreamed about Costa Rican beaches and more… It actually, makes you feel the necessity to stay there forever and forget about the stress back home. The White sand, the geological scenario of the coast and the marine wildlife are definitely memories you won’t forget.
Once the boat arrives on the crystal waters of Tortuga Island you will be taken for a snorkeling session around the tectonic rocks near the island. The staff on board will provide the necessary equipment and safety instructions. This waters are also home of species like: King Angelfish, Porcupine fish, Morays, Needlefish, Spotted Eagle Rays so bring your waterproof camera to keep those great memories.
After the hour of snorkelling is time for a lunch and a cold beer at the beach. Fresh fish or chicken on tomato sauce with broiled potatoes are part of the menu, and if you are vegetarian you might be surprised of what we have for you. After such a great meal, you can either stay at the beach and play volleyball, or you can go on a second snorkelling trip. Kayaks and banana boat trips are also available for rent at the island. On the way back to Montezuma the amazing sunset at the mountains and the quiet ride will help you digest this great experience.
